Do I need such a long cable?

Hello All,

My 310 came with a 25m hook up cable. I've stayed on one site so far and the point was right next to the van. 2m would have done it easily. Will I ever need 25m, or would a 10m cable suffice given the fact that you are not supposed to keep it coiled?

Thanks,
Philip.

Yes on some sites you will need it you can carry a short one as well if you like, it won't take much more room.

What I did with my 25m cable was to cut it into a 15m and a 10 m put on 2 new ends then use whichever is appropriate, and join the 2 together if needed.

I have sometimes wondered if my 18m one would connect but it did on many sites and in Europe and only in one case the site owner at Skipton loaned me an extra.

I use to use a 15m cable and I got caught out and needed a longer 25m, if you are going to carry two short cables you will need a waterproof joint box.

It doesn't matter if it's coiled whilst in storage, the problems can occur if it's coiled when live.
We have a full 25m that came with the Lunar and have needed it on several occasions. We also have a 10m one that was cut down when our 'old' one was damaged back in the day. That gets used at most sites and when at home.
