Hi all

Just weighed the Pan on the scales with the jockey wheel to get a rough guide before I set off later and it was 70kg with a small calor bottle in the front locker. Now my '70 T2 VW towbar has a max weight of 50kg. so after a few crates of cider positioned aft of the axle I could only get it to mid 60s. Once the Battery was repositioned we are in business The joys of towing with an old VW ...........

I always use to struggle with my previous Puck and the desired nose weight due to the kitchen, gas bottles and a leisure battery been at the front of the van.

When I go on holiday I like to pop my top!

I've done some rough calculations on my 320GT regarding nose weight and the effect of adding weight in different areas. If you put 1kg in the gas locker it will increase the nose weight by 620g. If you put 1kg in the front cupboard under the cooker it will add 380g. If you put 1kg centrally in the bed locker it will reduce the nose weight by 280g and if you put 1kg in the rearmost locker it will reduce by 520g.

The calculations are based on the distance of the weight from the hitch and the axle and for different caravans you would have to use different measurements of course.
