Familia awning rail heights

Hi, I recently bought a 2012 Familia 320 and I am currently researching a suitable awning to buy for it. I have read a couple of posts that mention a difference in awning rail heights . Can someone please tell me what exactly is the difference between the two measurements and am I correct in thinking that I have the slightly higher rail type ?
Thank you

Heights changed some time in 2009 so yes you have the higher one, If I recall correctly the difference was about 60mm ?

I think this concern expressed over change in heights somewhat misleading,

I have noticed no discernible difference between using a full awning on a 2006 320Familia and my newer 2015 320 Familia.

Given that
a. the flexible [polythene ?] skirt is about 300mm wide and

b height to the ground is also dependant on the slope of the pitch

a difference of the suggested 60mm is not going to make a difference in practice. Just another confusing factor to muddy the waters of buying an awning.

With the greatest respect I must disagree with you on this.

In particular reference to the Kampa Pop Air Pro the difference in rail height makes a huge difference to the way the awning sits/functions.

It is not likely to affect conventional awnings and driveaway inflatables I agree, but as many folks are considering Kampa's offering it is very much a relevant factor.

I am not qualified to comment on a Kampa Pop Air Pro, I refer only to conventional awnings with the ubiquitous black plastic 'skirt', for which I consider my previous post whol;ly applicable,

The awning rail height on my 2008 Triton is 185cms to centre of rail on dead level ground. That is quite a difference from the link posted by hob. Is there anything standard on these vans?

I think the nice Mr Hob might have a duff tape measure. I have just measured my 2017 Triton. It is sitting level on a concrete in the garage. One end is 198cm whilst the other is 200cm.

The figures in this topic were gained by measuring a number of van rail heights at a forum rally 2 years ago.

Eriba touring awning rail heights

measurements were taken from the ground at the wheel centre to the centre of the awning rail.

(measuring at the wheel centre means the van does not need to be exactly level to get the correct figure)

Personally I do think whatever type of awning 60mm or 2 1\2 inches does make a difference to the fit hence being sold as pre or post 2009.

I am guessing you mean 60mm and not 60cm, as that would cause a problem.
If you look at #10 and #11 it would suggest we are looking at 150mm and not 60mm. That is a considerable difference.
