Hi,
I am considering adding an extension flap to the LHS of the sink on a 2005 Triton. Easiest solution buy one from Eriba ..sadly not an option at well in excess of £200. Any experience out there or polite suggestions. Also does anyone have a source for Velcro type retaining bits that anchor the flap when folded down. Thanks.

Thanks for the response. Just the information needed and a neat job. Is the Velcro topped retaining button your fabrication or is it off the shelf (no pun intended)?

It's a fabrication. To be honest, I can't remember what I used except that it was white and I sprayed it black before sticking the Velcro pad on it.

I wouldn't want to be accused of blowing my own trumpet too hard, but the whole shelf/chopping block thing has proved to be much more successful than I anticipated, and it gets used a lot.

How's it going, Mr 2005430? Do post some pictures when it's finished.

I just remembered that the Velcro button retainer thing was a cheapo doorstop from the local hardware place.

There are actually two of them on there now rather than just the one; partly because it looked better, and partly because I wasn't sure that one Velcro button retainer thing would hold the flap down adequately if we happened to take a succession of sleeping policemen at high speed.

Hi,
Ended up making a smallish flap from leftover material. Just somewhere to put the kettle out of the way when using the sink. However pleased with the job as it worked well during our annual pilgrimage to France. Sorry no pics at the moment as van back in storage. Thanks for all the advice.

I promised photos of my creation. It works well for what it is intended i.e. somewhere to place the kettle when the sink is in use. I haven't posted pics before so somewhat flying in the dark. Hope it works!
