We want to go to visit Angers for the heritage weekend coming up. Can anyone recommend a campsite?

I think Randa/Roger was there in his summer trip might be worth checking hid blog. We stay at Le Serpolin at Clery sur Layon but that may well be a bit far out for you, but nice for a bit of peace and quiet.....

Yes, certainly did and we stayed at a lovely campsite but it was a little distance from the city (approx.10 kms). Randa's me and er's 2018 (16) Camping Les Plages de Loire (ACSI 1556)

The Snoozers stayed closer and to the north of Angers. Can't remember where but it was a lot more expensive than ours.

I did a search and Dave and Bunny went to Angers and recommended a lovely looking site close to the ity on a lake so we'll try that one as it's just for 3 nights.

Thank you you for the tips.

Hi Islay...that's the one we stayed at!!. Very good and if you can get pitch 1-4 on the right when you go onto the site, you get free WIFI!!. Easy to cycle into Angers from the campsite around the lake or there is a bus stop right outside. Also if you cycle in the opposite direction along the river to Bouchmaine, that's a lovely village with restaurants on the river.
Enjoy.....Chris

Well, an update.
Thank you for the recommendations.
We stayed at lac de Maine, it was wonderful. The loos and showers were the best we've ever seen and the pool was fab. The cycle tracks to Angers were brilliant. So much to visit within a 20km radius.
