Choice of Awning for Puck L

We bought a Puck L late last year that came with an NR porch awning. Having used it a couple of times we have decided that we need a bigger awning, especially for the main holiday in the summer. What do others recommend? Walker seem to get good reviews but how easy are they to put up?. Mrs B is against having a drive away. If anyone has a good awing to sell please let me know.

Many thanks

Martin

I think Jeff Bowen Awnings have a special offer on Walker awnings at the moment.

I asked Jeff Bowen how much the Walker awning was for my Familia 320, it was £799 which was about £33 cheaper than the Walker web page. The Walkers touring awning start at the Familia size, I think the Puck L has a slightly smaller body in length but only by 3 inches.
It may be worth while making sure it fits first by asking Jeff Bowen on his contact page or maybe somebody on here has got one on a Puck L who can confirm?

Don't know about the Walker awning but as far as we are aware most Familia awnings will fit a Puck L. This member was able to sell her Familia awning a few weeks ago and we were under the impression that it was sold to the owner of a 1998 Puck 225 L.

I used the huge Kyham Classic with my Puck L230 GT,
but always had a fancy for the Outwell Country Road.
Main awning for long stays was still the Soplair Bretagne,
and annex, using the ladder rubbers for a neat peg out
The awning rail length is the same as the Familia

Crikey! The NR awning not big enough? We got ours included with the Eriba and it's more than the size of the van.

We have purchased a new Walker! First time out next weekend, the quality of the awning looks to be first class. Ordered from Jeff Bowen on a Thursday, made to order and delivered the from Holland the following Friday!

Spot on Martin. Let us know how you get on with it. Can you add some photos of it as you build it?
Where are you off next weekend?

Hi Randa,

We went down to Bridport and managed to survive the wind and rain on Saturday and had a great time at the River Cottage Spring Festival, Helen managed get on stage and enjoy a meal cooked by Tim, one of the RC chefs!. Putting the awning up was quite straight forward however we had figured out the poles beforehand. I must say that the Walker is in another class and is extremely well made and goes up well. I will post some pictures. The extra room will be really useful for our upcoming trip to northern Spain.

regards

Martin

Looks like you made a wise choice, Martin. That's a smart looking awning that adds a heck of a lot of living space. You'll really appreciate it in hot weather.

We've just recently bought a Puck, without an awning, and couldn't afford to buy a purpose made one, so I bought a Gelert small end porch(for a tent) for £60 and am in the process of converting it to fit the Puck. So far so good. It seems to work. I'll try to post photos when I learn how to.
