The 93 Puck I bought last week had "StopTheft" stickers on it. I called them to see if I could update the registration. They were very helpful, couldn't find my van on their system and offered me a new (free) kit. It's the same as the the tags we inject into our pets but 5 of them which you hide around the van. I've also applied for CRiS but I gather they only have one tag? Also seems impossible to get insurance without CRiS and no discounts for the RRID Systems (formerly 'StopTheft"). Any thoughts?

Lots of insurers will happily provide cover without CRIS, which really isn't worth bothering with. All new UK made vans use it because it was set up by the NCC, of which they are all members. Once past the initial first membership the whole system falls apart because not all ownership are transferred and the register becomes meaningless. In any case Eriba Tourings are rarely stolen because they're easily recognised and not the sort of vans caravan thieves prey on.

After 12 years ownership and several different insurers, we have never had CRIS, and any company that couldn't find [on their system] a van registered with then isn't worth going with.
