February in an Eriba

We have until recently been summer Eriba users. The last two years has seen us push the boundaries with trips away from March though to Oct.
At present we are in Devon and with 500 watt heater on a timer doing fine. So to those out there in doubt, give it a try.
We have a foam mat on the floor and a rug fag rolled up to seal the drafts from under the gas fire. A blanket under the sheet and over our summer duvet work well. As we are short the top stays down. We have been very comfortable.

Colin

Edit - When I stripped the bed this morning it was very cold underneath, despite bubble wrap being stuffed in the air vents. Just shows what a good job the 50mm mattress topper does.

What about your ears though Colin?

We did York at the end of November and everything was fine apart from my ears. We had the pop top up - Kath is like you two but I bang my head.............

We took an old style king size woollen blanket to pull up over the top of the quilt if our toes got a little cold.

We also left the small oil-filled rad on about half and this kicked in a couple of times in the night.

For next winter trip we have just bought a couple of fleecy throws from Boundary Mill sale to cover ourselves whilst we are reading or playing cards

All sorted except for my ears - the price of the lack of hair methinks

Enjoy

Is there only us that use an electric blanket? It’s toasty during the winter months

I thought about one but Mrs eribaMotters thinks I'm hot enough and she did not need one. On a serious note though, I was advised against one if you have a foam mattress, and I'm also guessing topper, as they are not compatible.

Well as we're so inspired by Mr Motters that we decided to head for deepest Wales, so here we are having driven through rain, snow, hail and sleet to get here ( Llandrindod Wells ) a very nice small site with excellent heated toilet and showers. A very nice pub 1 mile away, -2 last night but recently refurbished ultraheat kept us nice and warm with a 9 tog quilt and fleece blanket. Today out to the Elan reservoirs.

We have toured early March and late November with heavy frost and flutters of snow, the Familia was cosy and warm, usually a quick blast with the gas fire to get the van up to temperature and then use the ultraheat was more than sufficient to keep it toasty. Living in the caravan in winter is great however the bit I don't like is towing 1000kg behind the car in snow, frost, black ice and high winds.

When I go on holiday I like to pop my top!

MikeT, are you saying your ears are missing hair?
