Yesterday, Saturday 2nd June was a fine and very hot day. We therefore did our final exploration of the coastline immediately to the west of Dieppe to find some long, sandy beaches and quiet coves as well as some charming buildings. The St Valery church in the photo was particularly beautiful.

Today we are just chilling on site and packing up the van ready for an early start tomorrow. Only a few miles from the Ferry Port but they want us there 90 minutes before sailing at 11am.

1977 ordered and imported into Germany new (not by a GI). 7.5 litre engine. Current owner has had it for 15 years. About 15 mpg.

We are now home after a 4 hour ferry trip, Dieppe to Newhaven before a 5 hour drive home. The roads were OK though and no sign of the fuel protest.

Total mileage 4002 miles over 88 days and 17 campsites.

On the last evening of our stay at the campsite this lovely Belgian couple drove in. She bought the Eriba a few months ago and is so bubbly about it although they had to resolve a spongy floor problem.

What a delightful couple to chat with and obviously must join the others we mention on post Randa's Me and hers 2022 (13) We also forgot the two beautiful Chinese girls who were camped alongside us several weeks ago. We gave them a small hand waving flag each that they were delighted with and they gave us two lovely drawings of Mrs Cat in return.

Roger, back June 15th you met Norma and Peter from Northumberland at Chalon. Small world, I've just been talking to them on there last night before going home. We are on the Delftse Hout campsite.

It was fine Mick and when we booked it, it was much cheaper than the others.

A 4 hour trip and both Newhaven and Dieppe have ample parking if you arrive a little early. The night crossing sort of abandones you at the arrival port at about 4 am but the day crossings that we made were very comfortable. Arrive at Dieppe mid afternoon with plenty of campsites after leaving Newhaven at 10am.
The return is leave Dieppe at 11am and arrive at Newhaven at 2pm. That means you get through the greater London traffic before the teatime rush.

No fuss at the arrival ends but a bit of a fuss with documents and a quick search of the car and the van at the departure ends. Nice boat with good seating and food.
