We took our Triton 420 on our first real shakedown trip to Northumberland, a county very dear to our hearts for 50 years now.
We booked into the River Breamish Campsite about a kilometre from Powburn.
When we arrived the sun was shining and all was right with the world. Got in a good walk along the Ingram valley.
The weather however was not to be our friend for the next week and we had plenty of opportunity to discover the inside of the Eriba.
Daughter and grandchildren arrived over the weekend by train and we house them in the VW California while my wife and I enjoyed the space and bathroom facilities of Eribetta.
After we'd got over the intricacies of parking the caravan correctly and according to site rules (who knew !?) we had plenty of opportunity to check out the facilities of the camp which were faultless.
Fabulous modern wash/toilet block. Really clean and well equipped - better than home in fact. Site is well laid out and managed by friendly, helpful staff.
A criticism maybe that there is no actual site shop for provisions; they do have some emergency caravan equipment and can supply gas bottles etc. but for food you can take a short walk into Powburn (12 mins on foot) and get almost everything from the Londis store.
For what was the start of summer the weather was pretty miserable and chilly, rarely getting into the teens Centigrade, but Northumberland remains one of our favourite haunts ... in the world.
