Monday 21st July

Up with the traffic noise at 07.25 this morning (must remember to put the lid down tonight)
Stayed in this area 3 years ago when I rented a holiday home for 2 weeks so already been to a lot of places …...........today I went back to two of my favorites Crich Tramway Village and Haddon hall for another look then stopped off at the rising sun in Middleton for a pint as it was my “local” last time I was here.

Tuesday 22nd July

Slept better with the “hood down” last night ….........bumped my head when I got up.
Couldn't be bothered looking for somewhere to go today so I did “the tourist thing” and went to Bakewell looking for a tart (no not one of those)


Wandered round the shops and bought a pair of shoes (the old ones were hurting my feet) and went in the bin along with the box for the new ones.
Sausage and chips by the river for me dinner (yes Roger I know that's sausages again)

Bought some incence sticks and a bottle of Australian Chardonnay so hoping to mellow and smellow at the same time sitting out in the canopy (in more ways than one)

Temp was 27 deg C earlier and is still 23 now
Heading for my last overnight stop tomorrow before going home after 3 weeks away. Can't remember when I was last away from home for so long

Anyway he's sulking cos he missed the bear shop

Hi Neville.
I've just read your post and it looks like your having a whale of a time especially with all this glorious sunshine. Seeing the picture of the wind spinner thingy that we gave you has put a smile on our faces this evening. Fforest fields now seems like it was months ago to us as so much has happened since. The house move went ok but as usual there was a few hicups.We couldn't get the divan bed upstairs as the base was to big to get up the twisty stairs. Also we have discovered the Washing Machine has a short or something as it keeps tripping the RCD unit. Our old place never had RCD so we were not aware of the problems with the washer. So its been a new bed base today and a new Washing machine next week and don't even mention wheel bearings for the car. Tonight I've fitted a new Ariel so we've got TV !!!! YIPEEE. I never realised how much a tv could play such a big role in our lives. Absolutely hated not being able to sit down and relaxes infront of it.
Anyway Neville , its been so nice to read up on all your adventures over to past few weeks and we wish you a safe return to your home.

Wednesday 23rd July
Fairly uneventful trip to The lawns campsite which is conveniently about 1\2 way home for me.

Thursday 24th July
Up bright and early and left around 09.00 to head for home, travelled down the A17 for a few miles then hit a big traffic jam near King’s Lynn which looked like it might go on for several miles


I dived out and turned right at the first roundabout and stopped in a layby to reset the satnav, there then followed a tour of several villages and even a trip down a 1\2 mile long single track road with grass growing down the middle ........................fortunately nothing came the other way.

Al least I was moving the stack of lorries and cars on the A17 were averaging about 3 miles an hour when I turned off.
After about 20 min of that I turned right onto the main road for Thetford and was on my route again after that it was plain sailing for the rest of the way.
Arrived home a little after midday to the usual pile of 3 weeks' worth of post and phone messages

Total towing miles ....... 798...........2 short of 800

Now where was I .........Oh yes grass needs cutting 800 plants need watering van needs cleaning big pile of washing to do....................................
