Where are you heading
in Where did you go, what did you do, who did you meet? Sat Jan 04, 2014 8:17 amby ellen (deleted)
I tend to spend a lot of time planning future trips, anyone else made any definate plans yet? Our first full week away is at the beginning of May to Dumfries And Galloway then at the end of May its our annual stay in a cottage with our grandkids, we look forward to this all year. We will have our usual short breaks nearer to home and in September we hope to spend 2 weeks away with the dogs and Doo-Dah, this will be the longest time spent on one trip and should be quite a challenge. Not yet certain of the destination for September, will wait and see when and where a possible meet may take place before we make a decision. So, where are you all off to this year? Ellen.

Weather dependent, Norfolk, and somewhere near Truro, Tavistock,
Damage Barton, Slapton Sands, Old Oaks, Lyme Regis, not
necessarily in any order and Sue starts a new job as her current
employer sold out to a new one.

1. Black Forest - on our doorstep - for the first run out with the Triton - 1 week end of April beginning of May.
2. Camping les Jonquilles on Lac de Gerardmer - France - 2 weeks end of May and into June.
3. Constable Burton Caravan Park (Yorkshire Dales) - UK - 3 weeks end of August and into September.
These trips are already planned and weather dependent there will be several extended weekend trips either in various parts of the Black Forest or the Vosges area of France.
We are both keen hikers/ramblers so tend to find sites that are close to some great countryside.
2013 Triton 430, VW Touran TDI BM and a Yellow Submarine of course.

We've more aless booked 4 weeks worth of sites in the south of France for August/ sept.
Two weeks at Easter in Northumberland
May BH staying close to home in Snowdonia
May half term in Ireland ( as a reconnoiter for a long tour next year)
Then the usual weekend outings leaving after lunch on the friday and getting home after lunch on the Monday to fit around work. We tend to be more spontaneous with these bookings seeing we live in Wales and never usually short of finding somewhere. However we are seriously considering keeping the van on a local site where we know we will always have a pitch. This will be more so if the newly raised garage roof does not accomodate the Eriba to free up the double drive does not work out ( it's a constant source of argument with Hitched as it's her car we keep in the garage)
Lee, ' Hitched' to Sarah....and in search of an Eriba to also be hitched to...

We're off to France again in April.
We will meander south to this place as it was recommended to us last year by a chatty French lady in Vichy. Plenty of stop offs on route through Central France.
From there, we will wander west and then south into Catalan Spain and the Bay of Roses, then on to Barcelona before travelling sort of westerly across Spain and back to France through the Somport Tunnel. Then gradually working our way up to La Rochelle. Total of 19 camp sites.
Well, that's the plan anyway.
We were hoping that we could meet other Eribafolk this summer somewhere in GB but the "take up" so far has been poor so don't know if that'll happen (see list) 2014 Meet? (2)

Oh and I though you had some insider information
. The one we pencilled in was De Bouthezard as we believe that it's the one right below the rock in the centre of town. Someone on forumeribatouring was talking about it last year so we'll have to look it up.
Puy-en-Valey looks very interesting though, doesn't it and we intend to journey down through the Massif Central and visit this area .

Oh you mean that lump of rock, the one with the Chapelle St. Michel D'Aiguilhe stuck on top. Can't see there being many believers in that town - blimey what a climb.
That other place you mentioned also has a big lump of rock close by although this time I think it's a radio mast. There's also a municipal campsite nearby - Chez Vasson in Orcines.
Better start early with your fitness training and make sure there's no holes in your walking clogs.
