Well that's the first outing in "Ribby" for 2014 well and truly CANCELLED . Booked to stay in Chertsey C & C club site for a week from Jan. 16th but the weather has intervened and we are informed that the site is flooded and expected to be so for a while. As we have various plans to visit family and friends in London we have luckily been able to book into a Travel Lodge outside central London at a reasonable cost ,and travel up by coach - but not the same as being in the 'van !

We shall book up another trip in The Eriba very soon though - missing it and suffering from 'withdrawal symptoms'

That's absolutely correct . If we had been able to use the site we would have been away from it daily and would have been worried all the time that the conditions would return , a flooded Eriba , not a welcome sight !

The floode Avon went very close to flooding Baltic Wharf there are some great pictures. I did not take these but the first shows the pump house which is across the wharf, the second picture shows the back and side of part of the Underfall boat builders yard

Baltic Wharf. The mobile flood barrier is being deployed tonight! If you are heading to Baltic Wharf be warned! Flood warnings are in place for the Avon, the mobile flood barrier will be very close to Baltic Wharf entrance gate (usually within 100m) the photo in my post above shows the flooding earlier in the year, The Pump House pub is just 100m away from Baltic Wharf across the wharf.

Just a warning, check and plan accordingly, fwiw, we usually go in from the M32 or Temple Meads end.
