As of 12.00 today the CMC has removed all rubber bands and other COVID precautions ( at least on our site). A warden advised “ it’s now up to personal consideration”. No face masks being worn in facilities on this site, although the local shops are still insisting on them.

The C and MC Rubber Band system seems to vary and in our opinion doesn't work anyway.

The new idea for Brixham at least, was to have the wrist bands chilling out in a pot of sanitiser and below a notice board which had seven numbered hooks.
Hooks one to four were for the toilet part of the amenities block and hooks five to seven for the showers and sinks. The same system applied to the womens block.

The idea was to take a band and hang it on a hook when entering the toilet/shower block. Most people gave up using them because on numerous occasions the hooks were full and the toilets were empty. There were sometimes large queues forming outside for no reason.

At Knaresborough a couple of weeks ago it was 2 bands in a bowl of sanitiser and two hooks for the men's. There was also a toilet next to the door with a single toilet in it.

It worked OK when people remembered to put the band back in the bowl but many people forgot so sometimes two bands were on the hooks but no-one was in.

Many people took to opening the door and shouting was anyone in?

We were within sight of the door and hooks so I took to using my binoculars to check the situation and did a Dad run to the toilet when they appeared free. I was a bit concerned about getting a reputation as a voyeur who got a thrill out of watching the male toilets.................................!

According to Kath the system didn't work at all in the Ladies as a whole number of younger women just totally ignored the system and went in whenever they felt like it.................

We will see what Penhros brings next week

Just got a message from C & M C to say that whilst restrictions on visitors have been relaxed Covid restrictions will still apply for toilets & showers until August 9th (?)

I think with Penhros in 2020 it was 3 using the block at one time but this may have changed
