W still need to sort out what we're going to eat on our first day in France which will be PM on a Sunday so no food shops open.

Perhaps we could take some Veggie Burgers but will we run the risk of not being allowed to enter the counrty as they may think we are Vegetarians?

Also, I wonder if we can convince the cat to be a Vegetarian for one day?

Roger, the general consensus going through threads on the C&MC is that nothing is being checked. Folk do not seem to be bothering to follow the rule but are not abusing it. The days of taking a fridge or freezer full of goodies are long gone, but taking the remnants of the home fridge and a couple of meals seem to be the norm. If you loose these them it's an inconvenience, if you do not then the a relaxed first night and a lie in next day are a welcome relief.

Hi Julie and Neil. The tongue in cheek "veggie" comment was aimed at you. Remember the joke about the veggies in a French Restaurant asking the waiter what he would recommend for Vegerarians? Can you take chocolate as it's dairy?

Hi Islay and Yann. I didn't think tinned cat food was allowed? As far as we are aware, tinned meat or dairy of any kind is not allowed. Ridiculous when you thing of how and why the tin was invented.

Hi Dave and Bunny. Going out for a meal as soon as we arrive is the last thing we wish to do. We'll probably have something on the boat.

All in all I'm sure we'll manage but I mention it only to try and show how ridiculous a law it is.
