Window lock help please?

How do you remove the window part of the lock?

The sliding mechanism has failed and although I can remove the top end I need to remove the bottom end to replace the whole thing!
ps Why do these things happen when on holiday😤!!!

There should be a small pin hole in the body of the catch. If you poke a thin meat skewer or similar thin thing into said hole it will push down an internal plastic clip and the catch will slide off sideways. This should leave a mounting block left attached to the window that you do not take off, but reuse with your replacement.
