Hi can anyone recommend tyre pressure for a 1963 puck. The previous owner recommended something like 18-20psi. When I calculated the pressure using tyre size vehicle weight. Approx. 30+psi That was to high as the tyres have worn in the centre. Any information would be gratefully received Kind Regards yoda.

if it an't broke don't fix it.

The correct tyre pressure is dependant on the specification of the tyre and the weight it will carry. Try this out.

I usually use the Tyresafe website, https://www.tyresafe.org/caravan-tyre-pressure/ but they only go down to 13" rims and I believe your Puck will run on 10" rims. I'd have a look at the load rating and max pressure on the tyre wall.

Seeing as I'm getting new tyres put on our Pan Duo Familia next week I was looking at this thread and then at the handbook to gauge what tyre pressure I'd need. The tyres I'll be having fitted are 155/80R13 but I'm having trouble interpreting the information from the manual. The Eriba is 750KG, I can't imagine we'll be loading any more than 150kg into the van so can anyone please let me know what PSI I should be putting into my tyres? Hankook RA18 Vantra LT 155/80 13R (90/88)

would somebody be kind enough to check my maths please, regarding tyre pressure calculation? Having just had 2 new tyres fitted I've now followed this guide

https://caravanchronicles.com/guides/cal...r-your-caravan/

So, my tyres are load rated 88R which I believe equates to 560kg going by the chart. The plate on my Eriba states it's 750 kg, so...

88r = 560kg load rating

560 x 2 = 1120kg

90% = 1008

65 / 560 = 0.1160714285714286

0.1160714285714286 x (750 / 2)

0.1160714285714286 x 375 = 43.52678571428573

So I need to inflate each tyre to 43.5 psi ?

Seems to make sense but would be grateful for some assurance.

Kind regards

Dan

I have attached a table of tyre pressures that Hymer produced for the Touring range some years ago. I remember there being some controversy and their recommended pressures being amended as per this list but the details are hazy.

Does anyone have more information? Are the details still relevant?

The above list came out in 2007 and if in doubt is the one to work from for vans early 2000's to the changeover in 2010.
I however have a print-out off the tyresafe website and use this, which ties in with the figures in my gas locker.
On the way to the south of France in 2007 with my new shiny Troll I experienced some "moments" that I do not wish to relive.
I'd set the tyre pressures as book, at 2.4 bar I believe, far lower than 3.8bar? they were on collection a couple of months earlier from Belgium.
I suspected something was wrong as the van had towed perfectly from Belgium but the ride through France had been truly frightening in the hills. Hymer responded with the new tyre pressures very soon.
That summer somebody had written off an Eriba on the M6. I seem to recall they were an experienced tower and it happened on the upper reaches of the motorway, hilly conditions similar to where I had experienced issues in the south of France.

I have towed trailer tents and Eriba's since about 1998. I have through inexperience incorrectly loaded them in the early days with in one case a negative noseweight. The only time I have ever experienced any problems was down to tyre pressures
