Caravan car towing mirrors Aldi

Aldi have caravan towing mirrors for sale £3.99 for a pair. I bought a pair so that I can keep a spare mirror in the caravan / car just in case one of my main mirrors gets broke whilst towing. Ideal for an emergency mirror for the price.

Poptop's suggestion is a sound one.

We did the same and a month later our expensive Milenco mirror on the passenger side decided to throw itself on the road exiting Chester services. Fortunately we had the Aldi spare to put on.

It is nowhere near as good as the Milenco but does a job. We are still using it after 18 months..............perhaps I am being a bit tight not to get a new Milenco set but the price differential between the two is eye-watering

If you think that price differential is steep then this year, because I was so unhappy with my Milenco Aeros, I have bought the German Emuk mirrors that are model dependent (cast metal fitting for my V70) and cost around £130. Milencos really do not work on Volvo mirrors of the 2007-2016 era, as they don't like the taper shape of the mirror surround, you can't adjust the glass properly when the clips are on and they won't fold when attached. The Emuks are brilliant and do not vibrate at all - they fold with the standard mirrors too, which is amazing. I also bought the emergency cord that stops your mirror falling to the road if it gets knocked off. Great design. But not cheap. And not as beautiful as the Milencos. They will though factory colour code your mirror brackets for a total price of €200....

Might it be cheaper not to have an emergency cord ? Might sacrificing a mirror cost less than the ensuing damage to the car of a mirror thrashing about?

Now they do look tasty bits of kit...............but the price is also very tasty.

Thankfully the mirrors on our Skoda Karoq seem to take the Milenco mirrors quite solidly.

The third picture of the body coloured mirror so reminds me when I was a scooter owning young Mod in the 60s and used to be re-spraying panels on my TV175 all the time. I spent ages re-doing a side panel in metallic maroon with a metallic bronze centre strip. It was perfection but the first time I took it out I hit a bump in the road, the panel came flying off and a lorry ran over it ............................it taught me one of life's early lessons about the fickle wheel of fate!

If you had a BMW that the.mirrors didn't fit about 5 or 6 years ago then they could well be yours 😊
