I thought the bearings that have a one shot nut are parallel roller bearings. They shouldn't bind up with high torque. I'd be looking at brakes not quite adjusted properly for the source of heat.

its normally the brake binding that overheats bearing, however if bearings have been in service constant use the chrome can wear off. taper roller bearings can overheat with over tightening.
