The hunt for a decent kettle has been going on for months after the home super kettle plastic top surround dissolved making unsafe to use. they are no longer made sadly

finally ordered this firemaple 1.5 litre kettle from amazon https://firemaplegear.com/products/antar...=39519395512416
its stainless steel,
light without water,
light enough with water,
no whistle,
lid is held by handle, folding handle kept in place by lugs
works on any heat source although ours used on kitchen hob.
we keeping this it boils fast enough
to allow cleaning 1.2litre stainless interior Stanley 40oz cup before filling (the Stanley quencher lasts for 7 hours hot 😲 found from personal testing
https://uk.stanley1913.com/products/adve...=48676608704838
with the addition of a sealing kit (just don't add the big bung to under side centre of lid with hot fluid other wise hot fluid comes out straw) , they also on amazon.

this firemaple kettle in my opinion does not suffer with mentioned below

however know wont match everyone's wants or needs.

having researched discounted many some for reviews le creusent for price and the enamel mentioned in reviews
ordered 3 other kettle types earlier in year thought may be ok from reading info, found they just did not work due to
weight empty,
pouring wrist pains due to weight & angle
wiggly handle,
leaking join,
something undisclosed sprayed inside,
lid falling off mid pour
whistle that did not work, did not seat right one did not lock open as designed
time boiling over 20minutes.
connection to small on hob compared to width of kettle making inefficient
aluminium no good on induction,
all these 3 were returned.

hope helpful

That all looks very exotic and exciting.. We just use the cheapest supermarket electric kettle. We're very boring LOL I do have one of these for when I want a coffee and we're not hooked up. I use it with a little mokka pot. https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B0B3RQV...0?ie=UTF8&psc=1
