Still at it. Some folk may have noticed that I'm trying to bring our Picture Galleries up to date by mentioning the New Eriba Models including the Rockabilly and Ocean Drive.
During my research I became interested in the differences in size of the two previous Hymer excursions into super sized Trolls, namely the 2001/2002 Odin 650 and the mid noughties Pontos. Below are the size comparisons between those two models and the new 600 Touring Series which for the purpose of filing any photos, I'm still going to call them a Troll.

Odin 650 Dimensions :- Shipping Length:- 6210mm, Body Length:- 5250mm, Width:- 2100mm, Ht:-2200mm, Unladen Wt:- 1060kg, Max Laden Wt:- 1250kg
Pontos Dimensions: - Shipping Length:- 5960mm, Body Length:- 4960mm, Width:- 2100mm, Ht:-2200mm, Unladen Wt :- 910kg, Max Laden Wt:- 1100/1300kg
Touring 600 Series :- Shipping Length:- 6460mm, Body Length :- 5230mm, Width:- 2190mm,Ht:- 2270mm, Unladen Wt:- 1225kg, Max Laden Wt:- 1400/1600kg

Anyone out there with an Eriba with a Knott T Pole chassis and tow hitch?

I've just noticed this fact:-

Eribas with the Knott tow hitch are about 230mm longer than those with the ALKO hitch.

eg. A Troll 530.
The old spec was 5.760m overall length with a 4.710m body length.
The new spec is 5.990m overall length with a 4.710m body length.

5.990m is dangerously close to 6.000m which is the cut off point on some ferries before the price goes up.
By design maybe but that 10mm is debatable don't you think.

Also our rig (old Troll and VW Touran) has a train length of around 10.100 m so on Scandinavian short hope ferries we can get away with the below10.000m price if we apply the brakes very hard just before parking up. These ferries have measurement markers painted on the decks.

Anyway, new spec sketches are pubished in the Picture Gallery so if anyone can spot an error please say so.

I did ask Claire of Kool Classics if her hubby could measure one and he came back to say that the 5.990 measurement was spot on, presumably with damper extended as it was parked up in their showroom/yard.
