The step is a constant source of humour so we keep it 
(and it's very stable).
When in the Netherlands, our Fiamma caravan step broke so we were faced with either replacing it at the local camping shop for 18 euros, or replacing it with a crate full of beer in the supermarket next door for 7.99 euros. Decisions, decisions

Blue Peter Badge. Much to my annoyance I didn't but Mrs R did and does she constantly rub it in? You bet. 
"What's that thing with the hangers on?" A hanger . It's a shirt hanger. We've had it for years but we've not seen anything exactly like it but this one seems to do the same thing plus a bit more.
