If you do a search you will find that this has already been discussed ad nauseam.

I just typed 'insurance' in the search box and when I hit 'go' got 43 pages of results.

Insurance is something that totally depends on an individuals particular situation and back history as well as the risk that they're happy to assume, so comparisons and recommendations are difficult to make.

Indeedy.

How well Company A deals with a claim when compared to Company B might be a better yardstick to use when choosing, but one person's idea of good service is often very different to somebody else's.

Adventure Ted, was it you the other day saying you wanted to tour Europe for some months? If so, you will need to look carefully at single trip durations. Some policies are as little as 30 days. Also, look at your house insurance well in advance for the same thing, so you can switch at renewal if necessary. We joined the C&C Club to get their house insurance, as it allows us to be away for 6 months/180 days.

Look at your intended use(s), so you can compare like with like. Very cheap insurance may not cover what you need it to.

I always found it was easier to deal with companies or clubs that specialised as they understood needs better and could advise on specifics
