Would anyone share what type of bedding they use? A duvet and 4 pillows seems to take up a hell of a lot of storage. We thought about inflatable pillows? Do you just use the usual bed sheets, duvet and stuff? Thanks🤔

Permanent bed set up. Foam mattress topper with a protector on top. Fitted sheet pulled tight around these with duvet and two pillows. If we need a bit of extra support when sitting up we use the cushions from the front.

We swapped full sized pillows for four feather filled cushions ,they are about 2/3 the size of pillows and used as cushions during the daytime and we slip a pillowcase on them at night. We used to use two duvets one thin one thick, one under one over (we swapped which one went on top depending on the temperature) now we have two mattress toppers and one duvet. Toppers roll up and are used as bolsters along the back window, duvet goes in an underseat locker or we make up the single bed at the front and lay everything out on that(it's a bit like a princess and the pea bed but it's useful to have a lying down space for a nap) Some people use sleeping bags but unless you use a cotton liner we feel that keeping them fresh on an extended break could be tricky.

We roll our sheets and duvets up in a rectangle of material that matches the van's upholstery before using them as back window bolsters. The rectangle of material is used under the sheet at night.

Pillows we store in the washroom which is the largest cupboard in the van during the day.

Same as Colin in our Troll, ie, make up the bed permanently with mattress topper and fitted sheet. The change we made this year and was a bit of a revelation was changing one large duvet for 2 singles. That made it all much more comfortable, particularly on hot nights...

We have the Troll 530 with the rear double bed permanently set up. It takes standard double size fitted sheets. we have separate single quilts to avoid middle of the night quilt battles and four full size pillows. We also have a small 8 inch desk fan which sits on the kitchen worktop at night to help sleeping in hot weather. We plan to get a soft mattress topper when time allows as the mattress is a bit firm for our liking.

Thanks to everyone! Very helpful. I hope everyone can see this reply as the software will not let me post a general reply. I forgot to mention that we are full time in our 530 touring the uk. We need to buy a property at some point but it’s so lovely in the van that we have little enthusiasm after selling our house😁😃

We have an Ikea mattress cut down to fit into the rounded corners of the Eriba as the seats make for a very firm bed. We then use 2 quilts, one thick, one thin. Depends on the weather as to which one is on the top. Normally we leave the bed made up and use the front dinette or live outside if the weather allows.

We convert the rear dinette into a bed at night and use a king size mattress topper in a double duvet cover ( fits perfectly). We sleep under a double duvet with 2 standard pillows. It’s a bit bulky when packed away but we store the bedding in the boot of the car in the daytime.

We put a duvet down first, then a wholecloth quilt - easier than a sheet as it doesn't ruckle up, then our duvet. Pillows go into homemade cushion covers on sofas. Bedding goes into the front underseat cubby with the lap down door.

We have gone with the full-on hotel bed look and feel. The fixed bed in an Eriba (430 in our case) has it's pros and cons. The biggest pro is that the area above it is dead space, allowing an unlimited amount of proper domestic bedding. It's permanently made up, with 5cm mattress topper, thick king size duvet (works better than a double), four proper pillows and a pure wool throw. We use a lower tog duvet in the summer months. One of our objectives was to not use any camping bedding, as we'd spend many [great] years in a tent, with sleeping bags and space saver pillows. We were always pretty comfortable and warm, but there were many compromises.
