Play in hitch

Hi, I have just collected a 2004 puck with an alko drawbar and hitch. If you get hold of the hitch head and lift it up and down, there is a rather nasty clunk and bit of play from behind the rubber damper for the overrun. I had a familia that had the starting of this but not as bad as the puck. Is it a normal Eriba issue? Or is there a fix? Many thanks

An ALKO hitch is an ALKO hitch, used in thousands and thousands of vans and hundreds of brands. There's nothing particular about Eriba installations.

Sounds like it could be the shock absorber thingey on the hitch is on the way out, or u/s already.
