toilet door.jpg - Bild entfernt (keine Rechte)Some years ago my toilet door fell off while in transit as they do ! and I repaired using the matchstick superglue method. Unfortunately some of the glue got spilt on the front of the door and while I was able to remove it, it has left a mark on the door.
Have tried Tetley, PG tips Earl Grey teabags but none have worked. Any suggestions (not more tea) how I might eradicate this blemish ??

Very fine wire wool and a matt beeswax polish?

You could try Brasso. Personally, I would live with it.

Mike, is the mark in or on the surface. If in the surface then a stain of some type, whether PG tips or shoe polish, should have an effect as the surface should be porous. If this is not the case then it sounds like you still have some adhesive residue on the surface. You need to try and dissolve this and not abrade/rub it off.
Was the adhesive water based, eg a type of pva. You could soak a rolled up piece of kitchen towel hold it in place and tape a plastic bag over it to keep the moisture against the surface. You could also try plastic window cleaner, the stuff that smells of pear-drops.

I think the clue might be in 'superglue'.

Dohh,
it's Sunday afternoon and I'm under the influence of food and alcohol Could still be worth the soak, or get a superglue release spray.

Some sources suggest soaking with a mild washing up liquid solution then using IPA (isopropyl alcohol not India Pale Ale) to remove the residue. Granted it isn't really possible to soak a door. You could however make a pad to soak then stick it over the area with a non marking tape to achieve the same effect.
