Triton rear window sealing

Hi all, my wife posted a question on Eribafolk Facebook, but not had any replies yet. I'm hoping someone here can shed some light...

During the heavy rains we had at the start of the week, we noticed that some water was leaking in from the rear window of our Triton 430. On closer inspection, it appears that the rain is coming in from the top corner of the window where the Perspex isn’t sealed to the rubber surround (see photos). The Perspex window is rectangular, but the opening is trapezoidal – so it does not seal all around! Is this a design feature? Or something to get back to the dealer about?

What year is your van? Eriba had a recall on window rubber seals for vans round about 2017.

Hi Colin, It's 2021. Collected it from Adventure Leisure Vehicles in May this year.

Phone then up tomorrow morning and arrange for it to go back in. It needs to be sorted as a warranty issue asap.

Thanks. Will ring ALV in the morning.

Fundamentally though, I can't see how the trapezoidal shape of the seal/opening can make a complete seal with flat perimeter of the rectangular acrylic window.

The seal is not made with the flat outer edge. This should stand a few mm away from the painted van surface. The rubber seal acts on the inside of the window a good 20mm or so in from the edge.
