In South Wales and only a couple of years after abolishing the Severn Bridge toll there is serious talk about a charge for older vehicles for using the M4 from about 5 miles west of the bridge through Newport and Cardiff.
What this does however is further penalise poorer motorists with older petrol and diesel vehicles.

It�s just a revenue raising ploy. If people have to go west past Cardiff they�ll just come off the M4 and use A roads using more fuel in the process therebye making pollution worse. Not a well thought out policy.
It�s a bit like Bristol�s 20mph speed limit, air quality fell after its introduction, surprise surprise.
