I had a look at the Dometic Rarotonga awning today at the NEC, huge awning but very impressive, it attaches via a 250cm strip at the side, and has a couple of blacked out bedrooms, a storage area at the rear and a huge living space.

Would be perfect for older children who want their own space, we're not quite there yet!

1800-2100mm connection height, so should be OK for our rails.

Well, it's certainly large enough. In fact it is so large I doubt you would be able to fit it, the Eriba and your car on a lot of pitches. Also a tad pricey.

Yes, a bit pricey but mighty impressive.

As for the footprint, I think it's more suited to the campervan market so not so much of an issue for a single vehicle.

I always feel quite sad when I see such big awnings on an Eriba. You can barely tell that there's a van there at all. Sob!
