Has anyone purchased the clothes drier that attaches to the rear chrome grab handle on a touring and is it worth £149 that I have been quoted 🤔 tia

depends how much going to use it, we use the bar in shower to hang wet coat on and the tea towel on a hanger

we have one of these portable ones, we use at home too, the screw to keep to height of upper section struggled
so drilled a hole same width of peg in plastic screw centre through aluminium pole at height needed, popped the peg in the drilled hole no need to tighten screw now.

I can think of many things better to do with that kind of money, mainly food and alcohol related.
On pre 2007-ish vans you could shape a couple of pieces timber to latch over a front and rear grab handle and feed clothes line between them.
Since the demise of these handles we have used the fold out free standing clothes racks/driers and more recently a small rotary drier from the likes of Kampa.

The grab handle ones don't give you much drying space..... bathing towels, swimming towels, cossies....We string a line up between a tree and the awning slot on the caravan. I've got bit of the stuff that goes in the slot attached to the end of the washing line. Clear as mud!

Isn't it bit of a nuisance having to take a tree with you?

I use one of these hanging off the back rail. I use an extra bit of insulation foam with the bits that touch the van.

We use something very similar to PopTop320's suggestion - available on Amazon for around £8. It can hang straight on the rear "bar" on our age van - however I attach mine to the awning rail using short straps from Retro Caravan Stuff that slide into the awning rail and then hang the rack using the stainless "S" hooks included. Hanging it from the awning rail means it can go anywhere around the caravan as needed... A piece of foam pipe insulation protects the caravan where it presses against it. Lightweight, adaptable and effective.
