Good morning!
Hubby and I have just spent our first night in our new Eriba - in our front garden in Ayrshire! As we are soon to be empty nesters, after raising 5 kids, we decided to upgrade from our trusty big tent to a caravan. And after researching online, there was only one option for us - an Eriba. We picked up a 2016 430GT fairly locally, and popped it in the garden.
We have no idea how anything works, and have a steep learning curve ahead, But we are so excited to start this adventure. This forum seems like such a lovely supportive place, with genuine advice and no judgement towards people who need help. Please be prepared for a deluge of daft questions from me! Although most things are well covered by previous posts. Wish us luck as we venture further afield - tomorrow night we are going a mile up the road to our local campsite. And after that, who knows? Maybe even 2 miles away, lol.

Lol...
No such thing as a daft question, only daft answers. You seem to be taking a sensible approach to your learning curve, starting in the front garden and then moving further afield. You'll soon get the hang of it. I hesitate to point out anything specific to look out for, everyone has their own problems to overcome. What I would suggest is that you use a departure check list to avoid any silly mistakes. I've attached one I use which is a development of one by Aaron Calder of this parish..
Have fun!

to the Forum. We have just upgraded to a 2016 540 Troll, so we may well be able to help with questions related to that period of construction (or maybe not...

You may find this thread of caravanning cock-ups both amusing and instructional. Checklist and cock-ups
The check list was written to suit my particular circumstances when I was a newbie, for example old and decrepit and needing to take vast amounts of medication daily; motor mover fitted; bike rack fitted etc. so, like Cabbie37 has done, please feel free to edit it to suit your specific needs.
I hope it proves useful. Have fun on your travels.

Welcome to the Forum. I can still remember our excitement when we changed from a tent to an Eriba........and also our bemusement of trying to set everything up on site the first night. Your approach of starting in the garden and then down the road is brilliant.
Unfortunately for us we had to pick up our Troll over 300 miles from home and my first 5 minutes of towing was onto a busy dual carriageway that turned into a three lane roundabout and our exit was in the outside lane. We did manage to ignore the swearing & V-signs for the less considerate drivers, and we are still here a decade later
I'm sure that you will love it and do lots of daft things that we all do when we are starting off
Enjoy
MikeT

Welcome to the Eriba World and a new learning experience. You will make mistakes, I know I still do after 20 years. But the other experiences will be fun and you will smile. Enjoy your Eriba.
