Hello all

I'm Josh, from Yorkshire. Looking to purchase a Troll or a Triton (so long as it has the 2 seating areas and a bathroom!). My intent is to turn it into something as off-grid as possible to not rely on electric hook-up and use to work from whilst traversing the country with my dog. Long time lurker, but circumstances have changes allowing me to be a prospective owner.

The content here is great and something I'm sure I'll rely on, and hopefully contribute to.

Hi Josh and welcome to Eribafolk 👍
As a long time lurker you'll probably know by now that the only Triton to fit the bill will be the 430.
The Troll range however is greater. We have a 530 which has across the van sleeping, a double in the back and a large single in the front.
The only disadvantage is that the beds are only 6 ft long whereas the 540 and others offer you long sleepers at the back but only a small cross sleeper in the front.

Josh. Just a thought but have you considered the Eriba Feeling 425 for sale at the moment by John England?
That is the equivalent of a Troll 530 but has more room inside because it has squarer sides

Almost identical dimensions to the Troll in all other ways.
John over the years has been recognised as one.of the best caravan engineers in the country so it must.be in good nick

OK you may prefer the shape of the Eriba Touring but it's worth pointing it out to you.
It's in our ads section.

In 2022 I changed from a Triton 430 to a Feeling 425. I made the move for two reasons, I was not prepared to take on the poor build quality of a new Troll and the extra space offered in the Feeling is most welcome. Yes I miss the shape of the Touring, but in every other way it is a better van.
I support Rogers's opinion and would advise you have a look at the Feeling being advertised by John.

Thanks both for the suggestion. It does appear to have sold now.

There's a couple of reasons that I'm looking specifically for the touring; my car has a max tow weight of 1200kg and I need the caravan to fit inside of a hi-cube shipping container for a couple of months a year. (bizarre I know, but I own one and I know a touring will fit in it). I don't have anywhere else cost effective to store it when not in use. I do however intend on using it as much as possible.
