Decisions, decisions...

Now we've sold the Feeling and have a Nova Light sitting on the drive we're considering what to do regarding awnings.

We still have the Isabella Capri which fitted the 425 like a glove and Isabella may be able to alter it to fit the Nova.
It's a great awning, but as the Nova came with a Thule Omnistor we're thinking perhaps we should squander the kid's inheritance (if only they knew!) and get the extra panels, poles, straps and clips etc to make up the Thule 'Residence Room' (it sounds like a country mansion with domestic staff, which would explain the price).

Some reviews and forum comments suggest the Thule option would collapse into a tangled mess, or end up over the top of the caravan at the merest hint of a stiff breeze, while others say they've been rock-solid in a force 10 atop Ben Nevis.

We'd prefer to use the Thule (because it's there so why not), but if it means taking it down, winding it in and starting all over again every time Carol Kirkwood warns us not to 'step out' today, we're not sure.

We had a Thule Omnistor awning on our VW California in the past. It was very secure when you used the storm straps you can buy for it.

These are made of webbing with custom-designed metal brackets that hook into the tops of the poles and come with substantial pegs. We never worried about the wind when these were used.
