We need a spare wheel and carrier for our 2023 Troll, a steel wheel would suffice if no ally one's about.

Excellent drawing, Roger. And I work as a technical illustrator from time to time, so I know what I'm talking about! I once produced full production technical drawings of a small plane (CFM Shadow), by measuring the prototype with a tape measure and taking photos...

Sorry for being behind the curve on this question; we have actually been away in our Troll, rather than working on it...

Anyway... I am happy to let you have a 14" steel spare with 8 year old 185R14C tyre on it for free - if that works for you. Just courier costs to pay, or pick up for free if you're near to Diss on the Suffolk/Norfolk border. It's rather rusty at the moment, but I'll even clean it up and repaint it for you for free too. But it won't be as perfect as a new wheel. Sorry. Here's a couple of photos of the one I restored to be my spare (my 2016 Troll had them on from new, plus a spare underneath), as I had managed to find some Lunar alloys that were the same size, Alko and Eriba compatible and looked better than the steel ones... The rear will be painted in Satin Black Hammerite Smooth and the front in generic Volvo silver wheel paint, with all rust removed/killed with Kurust. I will remove the masking tape and paint it first, unlike the photo, I now realise!

! Ideally, because of its age, you'd need to replace the tyre, but it has just been swapped to the wheel, checked over and balanced, so I know it's structurally OK. And I have an identical one fitted to my spare wheel.

Alloys are, almost always, appreciably heavier than steel wheels, so I would definitely only have a steel as a spare. I have bought a wheel bag for my spare, as it is surprising how filthy they get under the back of the caravan. I just made a hole for the wheel "retainer stud" to go through, then it drawstrings together on top off the wheel. I had this arrangement on my previous Triton and it kept it pretty clean.

As to spare wheel holders... You can buy a new, genuine Eriba one through Kool Classics for £270.00. Some photos attached. My experience is that it takes 5 to 6 weeks to get parts from them (Hymer's fault, apparently)... Unless they actually have one in stock - ring them up, they're very helpful.

In theory, you will also need a set of steel wheel bolts, which have a curved "mating" surface, HOWEVER I have been assured that you can use alloy "straight chamfered" bolts on a steel wheel with no problems (in an emergency), but you definitely cannot use steel wheel bolts on an alloy wheel... I discovered, when I sold my Triton (originally bought from Dom Fox), that the bolts I had been carrying as spares - described to me as especially for my spare steel wheel - were actually alloy wheel bolts, just like the ones on the main alloy wheels. In the words of Mr Trump, "Who knew!"

I have a carrier which I had modified so that the clamp screws into the frame rather than having to lift the wheel over the screwed post.
I also have the spare alloy wheel from our previous 2021 530, complete with tyre and unused.
There is a guy on the Facebook group who was interested in the wheel but I’m waiting for a reply from photos I sent him.

Second spare wheel now painted up and sent off to a new home. Photos attached. Not new, obviously, but rust all removed, killed with Kurust and then overpainted with Satin Black Smoothrite (on the back) and Volvo silver wheel paint and clear lacquer on the front.

Happy to do the same for anyone else who wants a free spare wheel. The postage cost £15.00 to send to Hertfordshire by Parcelforce 48.
