Don't you meet the most interesting people when you are camping abroad? Every year we come back with good memories of some of the characters we camp next to and this year it was no different.

While visiting Segovia, we came back to the campsite to find this 1980 long wheel base Land Rover parked on the next pitch. We mentioned it here:-

Saturday 24th May
While on the Segovia campsite we met a lovely couple, John and Pat from North Devon, who were camping out of a 1978? Long wheelbase Land Rover and a Roof Tent/Awning. Wider travelled than us it would seem. They have been interesting in Eribas for a while so we hope they’ll join Eribafolk and find out more.

When we left they gave us a sticker for our Eriba Door upon which was thier instagram address. What an amazing story. This is the latest picture, they are still in Spain.

It would appear that the couple from North Devon bought this Landrover which they call Lara, off the Coal Board in 1982 after experiencing a Landrover Holiday in Iceland.

Since then and three kids later, they patched Lara up 4 years ago and it's still going strong (new Diesel Engine last year) and they've been all over Europe and the Middle East with her. What a lovely pair to chat to and don't we wish we had found out more about them before we set off elsewhere.
