New member with a gas locker door issue

Good evening fellow Eriba friends,

We have a 2019 Eriba 530 Troll (Rockabilly) and have found it difficult to keep the gas locker door scratch and dent free when carrying both of our mountain bikes. We now have a significant dent in the door which is I'd like to try to repair, before replacing the part completely. Has anyone tried to do this and can give advice? It's a silver ridged door - fairly standard for the 500 series. Many thanks.

Quick edit - should I post this in a different section?

Welcome to the forum. I think your posting should be OK here, but Roger [Randa] may move it later if he thinks best.
Unfortunately your gas locker door is not going to be a cheap fix. If you are very competent then you may be able to drill out the rivets around the edge and strip the door down. Then you would somehow have to take the ribbed outer skin off and source/cut a replacement panel before fixing and rebuilding the door. If you decided on a replacement I believe £1,200 has been quoted by Eriba dealers.
With these figures or level of work in mind I think unless you can 100% solve the problems of your bikes damaging the panel again, I'd be leaving it with the dents in.

thanks Colin - we are sending the caravan to an Eriba workshop in September so hopefully they can work a solution. Just looking to improve the look of the panel if possible. minor scratches are ok but the latest one is pretty noticeable. hopefully a replacement ribbed outer skin is a cheaper solution that they can sort for me.
