I moved to the UK, specifically to Winterton-on-Sea, in 2017 from the East Coast of the United States. I adore camping and have even worked at several Girl Scout-owned summer camps over the years.

My hubby and I started camping with a nice Coleman tent, which evolved into a tunnel-style tent, and now we use an airbeam. However, after seeing a few Eribas on our camping trips to France over the last few years, we are looking for one of our own! We love the character and functionality.

We met a couple on our 2024 trip to the Alps, who had a Puck and let us look around. We fell in love!

We decided last month that we will purchase an Eriba late this summer or in early autumn. We have examined many models, but are leaning toward the Triton. We want a model with a toilet. That is our only must-have. I'm sure we will know it when we find the right one!

Looking forward to many trips and the excitement of customising our new Eriba.

Welcome to the forum Katie and your future Eriba arrival. I think it's a case of "love at first sight" with many of us. For us it was August 2001 on a campsite outside Saumur in the The Loire in France that I recall seeing our first Eriba and that was it. I wanted one, I needed one. They were thin on the ground in the UK then and it took me about 18 months to find a Triton 430GT.
I'm sure your search will be easier, so start looking. Pop across to Leisure First in Poole, Dorset, who hold extensive stock. Have a good route around of different models, not just the Triton, to make sure you have narrowed your search correctly. For example, owing a Troll is no different to towing a Triton and they may even be the same weight. Make a list of must haves and things that would be nice. This is more difficult than you may think as Eribas do not come with much standard kit. Two initially similar vans could be very different. Do not be tempted to jump in and buy early as it's a buyers market and has been since Covid.

to the Forum - and good luck finding a nice Triton. We owned three (before our current Troll 540) - the first a 420 with front kitchen, then two 430s with front dinette and mid kitchen. All with bathrooms. Our third one we bought from a chap in north Norfolk, Dom Fox - in Trimingham, between you and Cromer. He's cut back a lot since Brexit (he used to import secondhand Eribas from Holland), but he still does occasional ones and he's very helpful.

I first saw Eribas in the Loire too! At Amboise in 1987 (all Pucks and Pans), but really got hooked when friends of mine bought a Triton 420 in the early 2000s.

Good luck!

Hi Katie and welcome to Eribafolk

After much persuasion I managed to convince Mrs R to go from Tent Camping to the Eriba in 2010. There is no way she wanted a caravan but Eribas are different and are design classics.

We bought our first Eriba Troll 530 in 2010 when she was already 11 years old and we still use her now, 15 years later. She has followed us on our many European trips every year since and must have clocked up around 80,000 miles as we know how many miles the car has done.

It goes to prove that you don't really need to buy new if you don't have the budget to do so. Our Troll is still worth about the same maney as we paid for it all those years ago and we've just returned from a 2 month trip to Spain and Portugal where the camping is cheap and the sun often shines.

Last year we fell in love with a 1995 Eriba Puck so bought it on a whim. It was love at first sigh so now we are the proud owners of 2 classic Eribas.

I think Mr Motters has more or less summed it up what to look for but please ask if you need to know more.

Randa

to the Forum. Like most on here we were smitten on first viewing. We went to the NEC camping show to look at trailer tents but the Eribas were on the next stand. That was it, a few months later we were the proud owners of a 2004 PuckL. We sold it in 2016 for £50 more than we bought it for. We now have a 2008 Troll having had a Triton in between that was sadly written off in an accident. Whatever you end up with you’ll love it.
