Here's our new 540 on our maiden voyage. I posted a question recently regarding insurance so thanks for the advice. We took out insurance with Lifesure which did not require CRiS registration although we are considering it.
We are getting used to the smaller space compared to our old Lunar Quasar and have bumped our heads a few times LOL, but not so much after a few days. We like the simplicity of operation. We had difficulty closing the toilet door but the dealer resolved this with some adjustment when we called in a couple of days later. We had an electric element added to the heater so it can be heated from the mains instead of using gas. There are 2 ducts in the caravan which I expected to blow hot air but they are actually blanked off as blown air is another additional option. It heats up fine using convection so all is good. It has hot water, luxury. We've found the beds quite comfortable in bunk format so far. Once home we realised the bunks can be made a little wider with the addition of one of the back rest cushions which splits in two.
Upon collection we received a paper copy of the warranty supplied by the dealer. I was expecting a service book but apparently the dealer just registers our warranty with Hymer which they put on their internal database along with subsequent services.
Generally we are pleased with the quality of construction compared to our old Lunar, the only negative is that the Knott jockey wheel seems a little flimsy compared to our old Alko.
We have showed quite a lot of people in and out of it. Most people love the style of it and some have a bit of a chuckle when they first see it, but all are quite surprised by how spacious it is once you get instead.
So here's to our Eriba-ing and popping our top. We plan a couple of longer trips in September and October.
Best regards
