I agree. It's batteries out of the doorbell day and retire solely to the back of the house. It's the only day of the year that we pray for bad weather and it's always fine....

Absolutely HATE all that it is! We don't have a doorbell (seriously) if we don't know someone's coming then they are not welcome I'm just a miserable tabbard (or something like that)

Me too, all of that above. I am just glad our darling 7yr old grand daughter doesn't live walkable close! She loves it. After a beach day at Lepe on Tuesday we came back with a project for her - not linking it to Helloween. We gathered 10 large stones which we spotted had faces on them, like the moon and I suggested we paint them the next day. We did and it worked a treat for us both. I have always found it somewhat crazy that we as a society tell children not to talk to strangers and take sweets from strangers

Then for 1 day a year it's not only ok to do those things ....................but its ok to do it in the dark at a strangers house

So I'm NOT the only anti-social, miserable old git on the forum!

I too hate all this imported trick or treat bloody nonsense and will have nothing to do with it. Our daughter and the grandchildren are coming round tonight just to get away from all the Halloween hooh-hah on the estate where they live. One year they put a bowl of treats in the porch and the first callers, the greedy little sods, took the lot.

Never again.
