Can I alter the theme or colour of this website background to suit myself like I can with my e-mail
and a couple of other sites?

No. Some sites have different 'skins' or colour schemes available in settings (as you know), but this one hasn't.

Save the coloured wrappers from the box of Quality Street that Mrs Rodders has got you for Christmas and Sellotape them over the bits you don't like.

This Xobor forum comes with the option to adopt one of a number of pre-set templates, Rod, the current design being 'Gaia pink-floral'.

This can only be changed globally by an administrator, not by individual users.

What I meant was that you know there are other sites on which the settings allow you to change the colour scheme, because that's what you said:
