There is a Dutch caravan manufacturer that makes vans with a folding rear annex.

Yes, the KIP Caravan is becoming very popular. We see loads of them when we travel abroad, particularly their Pop-Top version. Very nice too although we've not blagged a look inside as yet.

Chicken caravans Crow? (We English only speakers didn't realise what KIP meant). It's all in the translation. According to Google "eri ba" means "you sick" in Basque

I remember looking over several KIPs when I visited Leisure Vehicles at Alsager several years ago. I was looking for Eibas but he had very few and seemed much more intent on selling me a Chicken

There was one I particularly liked with long front benches but the washroom was foldaway. If I recall correctly it had underfloor electric heating, but I'm not sure how it worked.

A very odd set up run from their bungalow where they also tried to act as importer for Wingamm motorhomes. The vans were all parked around their back garden and were virtually invisible from the road. Why they didn't have proper premises I couldn't figure.

I bought a Van der Horn awning from them some years ago. They were good to deal with and it all went very efficiently but their prices were in the 'premium' range!

Ooh do I need to consider this rather than an Eriba and risk a critical parental fall out?

I have seen three Kip the smallest had a foldover pram hood
extension on the squared off rear (a bit chilly I thought) but of
course you retreated into the insulated caravan as the evening
wore on. Nicely appointed caravans but not as nice overall as
the Eriba Tourings

I'll send you details by way of a PM later today. But, I thought thats since you live in Llandudno, that is not too far away for you to come over to Knutsford to have a look at it.

It is a very complete van with mover, electric awning, hot-water, etc., etc. Since we are giving up caravanning because of health issues, we shall be selling everything, including all the water kit, the bedding arrangements, crockery, cutlery, TV and aerial - the lot really. So, we would very seriously consider a reasonable offer for the whole caboodle.

Anyhow, will write later today but, in the meantime, if you would like to PM your email address to me, I would much prefer to get back to you that way, so that I can include lots of photo's.

BTW, it is a 2004, 540 which we bought from AL in 2008. It had not been used really by its first owner - can you believe it! So, it was like brand new - still is, really.

Thanks Piccolo....a tempting offer but we are looking for something a lot newer, if not brand new. We also have loads of accessories from years of camping and MH's.
Sorry to hear you are having to give up the caravanning lifestyle for health reasons....
