But you'd be disappointed if you thought you'd find Cumberland sausages Islay. Toulouse sausages maybe?

None of our Eribas came with oven, microwave or shower Roger, I am only saying that if I had to consider making a permanent fixed bed to accommodate a freezer I might reconsider why I needed the freezer. In your case the answer would be to carry on making the bed, in my case it would be not to take the freezer just as we decided not to take the microwave as its weight and bulk didn’t stack up with the amount of use it had. You are right there will always be differences of opinion

...... and you are right, you didn’t ask for opinions on taking a freezer, you asked for opinions on how to accommodate it so apologies to you.
If anything I am sure a freezer at the front of the ‘van would improve its stability, just check what clearance it needs for the hot air to escape

Think I’ve seen the same on Ainsley’s sausage packs as well. 😄

I have no problem with rebuilding the inside of the van as Roger will attest with our late lamented 430, we do get a bit "precious" about them, yet will quite happily rip into and alter a £250,000 house, and gasp horror, paint over the lovely magnolia walls, turning doors around, altering this and that and generally "improving" not to mention destroying the nice plain grass lawn and planting things in the garden by the [I feel faint] newly erected shed,
but the caravan MUST stay as is.

Just a little thought as an alternative.......
I vacuum pack a lot of food. It keeps a lot longer and the machine is small and light. That way you could do away with your freezer.... just a little idea......

Have you not considered a purpose built 40l Draw Fridge/Freezer unit that would fit under a seat base and designed for caravan/motorhome/boat use ?

You could even have it accessible from outside hatch

Maybe not the cheapest option but better than a DIY workaround IMO

replying to first post

perhaps mount freezer on rubber mounts to reduce the vibration.
were you thinking something like the heightened seat I did in mine?

you could add a door or grill in front wood to air.
if did both sides, the bed could still be made up, with a couple of blocks under the metal poles, if that's the system you have.
the height could actually improve storage of light tall items, upright knitting needles for example.
the fridge in caravan survives with only 4 screws holding in place.
