Hi all, happy new year hope you are keeping well during these testing times.
My air vent above the cooker and to the right of the kitchen window is showing a damp patch in the right hand corner at the bottom of the vent.l think it needs resealing, could anyone please advise me what silicon I should use and where to apply it on the plastic vent.
My Eriba is a 2008 230l by Puck.
Stay safe.
Regards.

This sounds familiar, so well worth using the forum search facility. My initial thoughts would be to remove the air vent covers inside and out, then the surround which they sit in. Then you can get a good look at the situation and assess the full damage. If lucky you might get away with cleaning and drying everything out before resealing, but NOT with silicon. You need Sikaflex, I think it is 221 or 227. Screwfix do a Sikaflex that owners have used with success.

That does sound strange. I'd tend to contact Jandi in Scotland as they are the most knowledgeable. Explain you have some damp and after stripping it down to re-seal found no liner/trim [include a photo] Is this normal and if not can they supply you with the trim needed. I'm guessing the reply could take a while but you'll still probably be quicker than trying to contact Hymer.

Not that I can offer any advice but I assume this is the vent you are referring to? (photos borrowed from Tony Lloyd, Eriba Caravan Sales)

Showing my ignorance here, is that vent specific to the 230 as we don’t have any vents visible in our 530, I’m assuming they are behind the fridge. Or we have a problem 🤔

It's a Puck L thing. No need to worry.

Evening Colin,
Thanks for info, I’ll certainly give the Scotland folks a call.
