2 Placed a tape measure behind the cupboards an took the measurement from the first one 950mm

Well done Erik, an interesting way of supporting the rail from the inside.

My concern when I fitted mine was that there is a gap between the fibre glass roof and the metal frame and so I didn't secure to that in the end as it would have distorted the roof. You got over that nicely with a spacer, I hadn't thought of that.

In the end, my 3 part rail was stuck to the roof with Sikaflex, held in place with self tapping screws in to the fibre glass whilst the Sikaflex cured.

That was three seasons ago and we have enjoyed the high rail ever since.

One of the unforeseen benefits was that the inevitable water seepage from the awning rail only goes down to the original low rail and away.

Absolutely! That rail is going nowhere.

Where did you get the awning rail from, Erik?

May I ask what might seem a stupid (yet genuine) question?

Why did you feel it necessary to do this?
