2021 Ocean Drive fitted with Schaudt CSV 409 charging system

I have a 100w portable solar panel, can I connect the output wires from the charge controller from the panel to the Solar input on the Schaudt, or should I connect direct to the leisure battery?

Anyone here done it please?

Thanks!

The solar input on the csv409 is designed to accept the input from a compatible solar controller (lrm1218 or similar). Unless you plan on installing one you should attach directly to the battery. I presume your portable solar panel has a solar controller included on the setup; either mounted on the panel, or better, installed close to the battery.

That's how I've done it and it works fine.

It makes no difference, Paul. The CSV409 doesn't do anything clever with the output from a solar controller, all it does is connect it to the leisure battery via a 15A fuse, as shown in the CSV409 manual.
