If someone gave you a grand...

Pounds, not a piano, that is.

The grand comes with two conditions; one being that you have to spend it on your caravan, and the other being that you can't spend it on an awning. What would you spend it on?

I imagine Mr EribaMotters would spend his on a fully automatic and hydraulically-powered aerodynamic heat-seeking roof-mounted IP67-rated satellite dish which would make his caravan fall over the first time he went round a roundabout, but what about the rest of you?

Well, interesting point this one.
Someone mentioned personal number plates a while back and I have to admit I'm thinking about it. I know this is not strictly caravan, but one would go on the van. I looked on the dvla website and for £250 including transfer fees I can get a very good number.
I've just retired and Mrs eribaMotters says I never spend any money on myself [apart from the £192 wi-fi booster I've just bought to pick up on the free wifi available on a lot of sites] so she has said buy it. She then asked if her equivalent was available, which it is, so she is now saying buy them. So that is £500 which means I'm 1/2 way there.
Would a return eurotunnel crossing with Red Pennant cover count towards the final £500. If so I've cracked it.

Colin

ps - Mr Pepe, I'm still looking for a good priced self seeking Snipe V2 satellite, and then I'll have a nice Multimo dish for sale.

Mrs eribaMotters has just told me sod the eurotunnel crossing with Red Pennant cover for the final £500.
It was our 33rd wedding anniversary yesterday and she wants 500 £1 bars of chocolate in the top lockers.
Who am I to argue?

Colin

I would pay to give the Eriba's underside a good going over. If there was enough left, a new paint job.

A pound in the Smoke is a Nicker
A hundred of them make a ton
And what rhymes with Nicker but old Alan Whicker
And that’s just the start of the fun

Next we have Lady Godiva
That’s a fiver to you and to me
Three fivers add up to a Commodore
Cos that’s three times a Lady you see?

A tenner is known as a Cockle
And that comes from Cockerel and Hen
A score is two tenners, or two Ayrton Sennas
By the way can you give us a lend?

A ten and three fives make a Pony
Or twenty-five quid to be plain
That’s just about right to go out Friday night
And on Saturday come home again

Five times a ton is a Monkey
Five hundred quid right on the button
Don’t ask me to lend it, I don’t recommend it
When asked for a loan I go Mutton

Two Monkeys add up to a grand
One thousand of our English pounds
A nice wodge of cash (known as Bangers and Mash)
Though not quite as grand as it sounds

I'd have the Eriba re-upholstered (not clever enough to do it myself) and replace the fridge with one that is more use. I could get more in the old PuckL fridge then I can get in this one. Plus the PuckL fridge didn't have a green light.

Hi eribaMotters, I was at a bit of a loose end last night so I started perusing the Eriba forums and finally got round to signing up. I never feel I have much to add to these forums, but I noticed your note about the number plates which made me chuckle.

Did you get round to purchasing a plate? Only, I thought you might be interested to know (if you haven't spotted it for yourself yet) that you can get the ideal Eriba plate. I know some think they a bit naff, but now the 18 plates are available you can get ER18A .......... EM / TT / XX? We decided that we'd keep the plate on the car totally legal and just take a chance with the plate on the van. Just got to buy a car to put it on now!

There are plenty there, just go to the GOV.UK website and have a look, they're generally £399.

Regards
Steffan

I'm afraid I'm one of those killjoys who thinks mis-spaced number plates are a bit naff. Mis-spaced and the ones which cunningly* use the head of one of the fixing bolts to make a character look like something else. Like turning two number ones into an H. That kind of thing.

And it's either legal or it isn't. There aren't any half measures. Mis-spaced plates are illegal.

* that isn't quite the word I meant.

Sorry to pee on your firework. It's a personal bugbear that I should really have kept to myself - it's just that you left the door ajar and I couldn't help pushing on it.
