Eriba sun canopy for Touring

Hi All, I am thinking of getting the Eriba sun canopy, complete with side walls and front panel. To me it looks like a great bit of kit and should be easy to fit as its only 8.4kg, My thinking is that its a multipurpose accessory. A sun canopy in the day time and then the side walls and front can be added on longer stays - what’s not to like ?? I am hoping that the good Eriba Folk will be able to provide some much considered views and (hopefully) some hands on experience. Thanks in advance, Robbie.

Looks pretty but how much will it cost?

Khyam sun canopy plus side walls and front which have a similar function total cost £230 not as pretty or as large but I'm betting much much less expensive

Hi Denise & Phil. I will have a look at the Khyam - thanks. I got a price from ALV and the whole set inc 2 side panels and the front panel is just under £1k.

Hi Robbie

Initially £1K may sound a lot - but if it is what you want and you get a lot of use out of it & and it has the quality to last, it becomes a better buy. Plus you have the bonus that it is built to fit our special vans.

Too many other awnings and canopies we have adapted to fit our Eribas and have to make compromises. The Kampa Pop Air original run was a good example of this compromise, which is why at some angles it can look like a dogs dinner.

I agree with all that Mike. I actually think that £1k is good value. Like you say its made to ft the Eriba, whereas most other “low” awnings are a cobble up. The quality will be top notch. Also it should be a breeze to put up as the canopy only weighs 8.4kgs. So pop that up in the day time when you first arrive on site. The the sides and front can go on at your leisure to suit your mood or weather. I also like the fact that it has no sewn in ground sheet. These get so wet and slimy. So a 3 x 3m Jolax would be the finishing touch to a top quality bit of kit. Mike H at ALV says I would be the 1st to have one in the UK. I find it very hard to believe that no one else has bought one. I am hoping my thread will help to spread the word. Or maybe I will get booted off the forum for being a heretic ?

Cheers, Robbie.

Robbie,
if you search the Soplair Canopy with the optional sidewalls then I think you will find something with a striking similarity.
This first appeared in the 60's or 70's and it would appear Hymer are now just resurrecting the design.

Hi Robbie

Mike H at ALV is a natural salesman. Our Troll is going in for its service there on 20th I wouldn't be shocked if he shows us one - he normally has something new that he wants you to look at...........

Hi robbie

Hopefully this is the image of the Swift Verao from the side - it looks a better fit than the Kampa Pop Air
