I found that when I started using them they took a while to get used to. That was both for my first pair some years ago and more recently when I bought another set.

Wouldn't do without them now.

I must admit to always using extended mirrors.

However, in the days of towing a 6-berth WWB Swift - I could see right through it using the car's rear-view mirror and easily see that tail-gating eedjiot behind - that was until the wardrobe door swung open .... Aaargh
