1. Cleaned the fridge out after our last trip and

2. Not left the door closed for a couple of months.

Don’t understand Arron. If you left the fridge door open - as you state, then the air would have circulated inside and the mould would not have formed. If you look at the door clip there is 2 settings. 1. To lock it shut and 2, that keeps the door pulled to, but leaves a small gap for air to circulate.

Aaron is saying “it would have been a good idea if he’d not left the door shut” presumably meaning the door WAS shut allowing mould to flourish.

Don’t worry AC, we’ve all done it at some point. You think you’ve completely emptied, cleaned and readied the van for a lay up but there’s always something 🤔😲

Agreed that could be read either way. However the point I was trying to make is that the fridge door latch has 2 settings. One setting being that it leaves the door slightly open and therefore lets air circulate to help prevent it from getting mould when not in use.

I’ll be honest and say I hadn’t really noticed that. I tend to leave the door well open, normally propped with something. I’m in the van tomorrow cleaning it out after being away on the EOC rally so I’ll have a shufti at that

Another slight quirk to note. If you leave the fridge door on the ‘open’ setting do two things. Make sure the screw on the plastic retaining fitting is reasonably tight ( it tends to work loose) and you should always gently squeeze the grey plastic door and frame fittings together so that they engage. Once again I’m struggling to explain this properly but I’m sure you’ll see what I mean when you ry it.

After our week in France last month I cleaned everything out, including the fridge, and left the door open... when I packed up to go away at Bank Holiday I discovered that I had missed a lemon ice lolly that had been left on top of the freezer element and subsequently melted all over the interior of the fridge...

What an eejit...
