Hi,

I have a Triton 430GT 2005. The white rubber sealant that goes round the front gas locker door has perished, so much so that it keeps popping out the metal grove and doesn't pop back in.

Hs anyone replaced this before ? Where did you get a replacement ?

i followed the thread on here for the roof rubber bumper which was really helpful.

Do you mean the white plastic strip in the metal edge on the front surround of the gas locker door? If so it's called Herzim strip and is readily available on Ebay. I got mine from here (it will come up as German Ebay, just copy the address across into UK site):

Mine kept popping out last summer, so I replaced it, although i used silver because I think it looks better...

The problem is often caused by a rusty, or badly fitted fixing screw in the groove. If the head expands due to rust, or is, perhaps, replaced by one with a head that's too big, it puts pressure on the herzim strip and gradually pushes it out. Colin's solution above does away with that risk.

I have just bought a Herzim Fitting Tool from Seals Direct. It makes replacement much less painful on the fingers! You can buy from them direct (as picture below) for £5.95 + £5.94 delivery, or from Amazon for £9.94 (next day delivery - free if you have Prime), which is what I did. A recommended tool.
